We speak airplane. EAA Chapter 838 is here for people just like you, people passionate about aviation.

  • Flying. Already a pilot? Join a supportive, interesting community to help you improve and maintain your skills, participate in local and national events. Interested in learning to fly? We offer ground school, two flight simulators, introductory flights, and regular discussions and updates at chapter meetings on new technologies and techniques, rules and regulation changes, and other useful information.
  • Building or Restoring. If you’ve always wanted to build or restore your own aircraft, you’ll find Chapter 838 has a number of members with a wealth of experience in all contruction techniques. Some Chapter 838 members have already built one or more aircraft, and others are actively working on their first project. Every Monday night is Builder’s Night at the Chapter 838 hangar as members work on restoration of a 1953 Piper Tri-Pacer (a great place to learn new skills!).
  • History and Museum. Do you enjoy aviation history? EAA Chapter 838 is home to an aviation museum and the Southeastern Wisconsin Aviation Hall of Fame. Our region has played a significant role in aviation history. We work not only to preserve and remember, but also to advocate and educate. Part of our work includes school tours and presentations.
  • Education and Scholarships. Membership also provides young people a chance to go flying (including our very active Young Eagles program, giving young people 8-17 free flights) and participate in special event and access to scholarships.
  • But wait, there’s more! Chapter membership includes a monthly newsletter, access to our library, expert knowledge and assistance from aviators, builders, designers, and innovators. We strive to make flying more accessible and affordable for everyone. EAA Chapter 838 also works with our local community to increase awareness about aviation.
