Annual Chapter Awards for 2017

At our December Holiday Christmas Party, outgoing President Ken Sack awarded our chapter annual awards.

About 75 chapter members, Explorers, CAP, Young Aviators, and guests attended our annual event in the museum. If you were not there, you missed a great night. The food was tremendous.

The first 2017 MVP award was given to Dave and Dianne Finstad. Dave is our Membership Chairman. He recruits new members each year. Dianne assists Dave by keeping the spreadsheet current in order to send renewal notices. They are doing a great job together, and we have more members now then we had when he took over.

The second 2017 MVP award was given to Bob Helland. Bob organizes our pancake breakfasts. We added a second one this year, and we raised over $3,000 in profit. Our members helped out tremendously at both events. If you didn’t have a chance to volunteer this year, watch for it next year. It is great fun.

The 2017 President’s Award was given to Carl Bumpurs, our Chapter Building Czar. Carl has single-handedly managed the renting of our building. which takes many hours of his time. He corresponds with prospective renters, reviews and secures the contract, then meets them a few times in the building prior to the event. He may have to let them into the building the morning of the event to set up decorations, attend the event and stay until the event is over for cleanup. Occasionally he comes back the next day for additional cleanup of the building. We now have a list of people available for Carl to contact to assist with this effort, so when Carl calls or emails you, please help him out and say yes. If you want to get on this list, send me an email. Congratulations to Carl Bumpurs.
